Course Description:
                                  This course will enable the students to understand the issues related to Management Information Systems. Many issues in MIS are complex; this course will help the students to understand, explore the competitive advantage of MIS. Pace of development has taken the business into new phase; this course will include the case studies exploring E-commerce. This course is more based on discussion rather than lectures only. Case studies will enable the students to implement their knowledge in practical examples. Presentations are essential part of this course because the groups will present them at academic level rather than traditional way.
Course Objectives:
·         Understanding about Basic computer and communication Architecture
·         Sufficient knowledge building about Information systems for Competitive Advantage
·         Will understand Value Chain
·         Understanding the importance of E-Commerce and its particle implications
·         Knowledge about Database Management Systems
Teaching Methodology:
·         The class will be conducted through lectures and multimedia presentations delivered by the Course Instructor. Students will be encouraged to participate with questions and case study discussion.
·         Students will be expected to read assignments in advance. This will be tested through the extent and frequency of students’ participation in every session.
·         Learning will be acquired through lectures, cases, class discussions and presentations.
·         The questions in the mid-term and final-term examinations may be taken from the textbook and additional material discussed in class.
·         A sudden class test is part of this course as well
